Welcome to 5th grade! I am Mrs. Steinhour. My husband and two girls moved from Oxford, Michigan to Gulliver in 2020. We absolutely love the Upper Peninsula and we never plan on leaving. This is my first year as a teacher at St. Francis, but I have been in the classroom since moving here. I worked at Manistique Middle/High School as a para-pro with my own classroom. During my time at MMHS, I acted as the Virtual Student mentor for kids that were taking classes through Michigan Virtual or Odessyware. In addition, I served as the mentor for kids who were duel-enrolled through Bay College. I also worked with the special education students who needed additional guidance and help with attendance, staying organized, and were considered "high-risk." I earned my substitute teaching certificate in December of 2021 and began subbing both at MMHS and St. Francis. I have been tutoring students from the high school in all subjects as well. I enjoy learning and am currently enrolled at Northern Michigan University. Prior to coming to the UP I served with Angel's Above Baby Gowns, both collecting wedding gowns and other formal wear that was then converted into burial gowns for babies born still. I also distributed the gowns when a family was in need. This is a non-profit very close to my heart and I am hoping to continue working with them up here.
Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns. I love two-way communication and believe that the most important aspect of your child's education is a partnership of parents and teachers. |
