Job Summary:
St. Francis de Sales School is accepting applications for a part-time/full-time seasonal (9 months) position as a Office Assistant beginning September 2022. Under the direction of the Administration Assistant and Principal, the Office Assistant is responsible for overseeing the daily routine of the front office, and provide secretarial and clerical support for the school office operations. A successful candidate must be faith-filled, be dynamic, compassionate, energetic, and willing to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet the public who come into the school office. Take care of their requests or needs.
- Check emails and voicemail and respond if needed.
- Answer telephone: Take messages for all teachers, staff, students. Follow-up and deliver messages.
- Receive mail, distribute mail, and drop off outgoing mail.
- Help teachers in whatever area they need such as making copies, getting information, etc.
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner
- Dispense daily medication, inhalers, etc. to students. Deal with student medical issues—take temps, administer first aid for minor emergencies. Call parents or guardians to notify of an illness or emergency regarding their child. Document in medical log.
- Order day to day school supplies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration.
- Maintain strict child confidentiality
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Data entry into Student Information System (SIS) and accounting system.
- Assisting with communication to teachers and SFDS families.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written expression
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Works well in a collaborative environment. Experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred, but not required
- Must be comfortable with technology to include Google Docs, laptops, iPads, online testing, etc.
- Must have a commitment to Catholic school education
- Able to work in fast pace environment
